Located in the Historic Triangle a few miles away from the battlefields of Yorktown and the cobbled streets of Colonial Williamsburg, you will find Silt, one of the area’s newest restaurants. Silt is a farm-to-fork eatery led by Richmond native and Executive Chef Nelson Miller that presents the bounty of ingredients found within Tidewater Virginia and the surrounding areas. Miller and his culinary team redefine Southern food by incorporating techniques and ingredients from a variety of worldly influences. One of Silt’s missions is to engage guests in conversation about their food, how it is raised and sourced, and why all of that matters.
Silt is tucked in the Village Shops of Kingsmill – one of the most charming shopping centers in Williamsburg with a uniquely old world feel. The interior is simple, dotted with tables made of wood salvaged from an old barn in North Carolina and gorgeous photographs of barns and farmhouses from around Virginia. Decorated in a style Miller refers to as “rustic-farmhouse-chic,” Silt is at once both modern and traditional, as well as comfortable and elegant.
